Sustainability of epoxy resin

We also pay attention to sustainability when manufacturing our epoxy jewelry. Epoxy resin is a versatile material that is known not only for its durability but also for its low environmental impact. When selecting our raw materials, we attach great importance to using products that are manufactured in an environmentally friendly way. Our goal is to create jewelry that is not only beautiful but also sustainable.

Our ecological awareness:

  1. Durability : Epoxy resin is extremely durable and resistant to wear, water and chemicals. With our non-yellowing UV resin, the so-called "yellow tint" does not occur, where the epoxy resin yellows when exposed to UV radiation for a long time. Epoxy resin is incredibly hard and often has a longer lifespan when used as a piece of jewelry than, for example, when using rhinestone crystals (eg. Swarovski®), where either the glue comes loose and the glass crystal falls out or even breaks or gets scratched. Scratching an epoxy surface is almost impossible. All of this can help to reduce the consumption of raw materials in jewelry production and the production of waste over time.

  2. Efficiency : Epoxy resins can be processed very precisely and with minimal waste. At SOLEA Epoxy Jewelry, we attach great importance to the precise dosing of epoxy resin when manufacturing our epoxy shells in order to produce almost no waste.

  3. Potential for the use of renewable raw materials : Research is ongoing to develop epoxy resins made from renewable raw materials.

  4. Recyclability : Although epoxy resin itself is difficult to degrade, recycling products containing epoxy resin can help minimize environmental impact. In some cases, resin components can be recycled or reused in new jewelry.
