Care instructions for our jewellery
Your jewelry, like all other beautiful things in life, needs a certain amount of care. Whether you use professional cleaning products or rely on tried and tested household remedies is up to you: the more intensively you care for your pieces, the longer you will enjoy them. Basic rule: the more often you wear your jewelry, the more often it should be cleaned!
PROFESSIONAL CLEANING PRODUCTS
Care cloths For light soiling, soft gold and silver care cloths are the professional solution for quickly cleaning your favorite piece of jewelry. Gently polishing will make them shine like new again!
Immersion baths
The perfect cleaning method for moderate dirt. The cleaning fluid in an immersion bath can also penetrate into recesses or hard-to-reach places and is therefore ideal for deep cleaning. Important for immersion baths: rinse the pieces of jewelry well under running water afterwards and polish them thoroughly dry.
Care creams
When it comes to heavy dirt and large areas, care creams are a good solution. Apply the care cream to the piece of jewelry and rub it in with a damp sponge until the desired shine is achieved. Then rinse the piece of jewelry under running water and polish it thoroughly until it is dry. The piece of jewelry will then shine almost like new. Small bumps have been smoothed out, the surface is sealed and thus protected from dirt and moisture.
JEWELRY MATERIALS
Choosing the right material plays a crucial role in jewelry making as it affects not only the aesthetic appeal but also the durability and quality of the pieces. The variety of materials available offers a wealth of possibilities for designers and jewelers, from precious metals such as gold and silver to innovative and sustainable materials.
SILVER
Silver tends to discolor and requires more intensive care than gold to maintain its shine.
Caring for silver is similar to caring for gold: immerse your silver jewelry in a warm water bath with soap or detergent, rinse the jewelry thoroughly under running water and polish it carefully until dry. For more severe discoloration, we recommend using professional silver cleaning products. To avoid discoloration from the start, silver jewelry should be stored away from light.
STAINLESS STEEL
Stainless steel jewelry is much more durable than silver jewelry and is particularly suitable for allergy sufferers because it is rust-free and generally suballergenic, meaning it does not trigger allergies, as it contains only minor traces of nickel. Compared to gold and silver jewelry, stainless steel jewelry is easier to care for because it does not tarnish.
Use a gentle microfiber or cloth to clean the material. A mild soap solution can be used without any problems. After coarse dirt has been removed, you can simply polish your piece of jewelry with a cotton ball.
ZIRCONIA
Cleaning zirconia stones on your jewelry is easy: Place it briefly in lukewarm water and then rub it with a soft cloth.
LEATHER
Please note that leather and glued joints can quickly become damaged if they come into contact with water. Certain types of leather, such as crocodile leather, should not come into contact with water at all. If cleaning with water is unavoidable, it is recommended to clean the leather superficially at most with a mild solution of leather soap. However, the material should not be soaked under any circumstances to avoid it drying out quickly.
